This program is to promote high performance youth cycling. NEWS 
Individual athletes must show they are dedicated to a training process beyond statewide competition. The funding criteria are to identify young cyclists with the perceived potential for National and International competition with the intent of subjecting the cyclists to Professional scouts and or giving them the tools to test their abilities at the Olympic Trials.

Criteria(here):
Funding limits will be based on the availability of funds and the athletes demonstrated performance level within their cycling discipline.
In addition to the performance level the athlete will be required to meet the Committee’s expectations (see page 5 criteria) to be eligible. The Committee will consider requests on a case-by-case basis.

Each athlete will be required to sign a Letter of Intent (here)to demonstrate their commitment to this program. The athletes participation in this program is solely at the discretion of Building Champion Cyclist Fl.

Expectations:
Compete at the primer state events in your race disciple and attend national competitions. (ie. Gone Riding Fall Series, State Cyclo Cross Series, State Road Races)

Submissions:
It is the intent of the program to identify these cyclists prior to 20 years of age. However, there can be exceptions on a case by case basis.

How to Apply:

An application form will be required to be completed and submitted by each athlete to be considered for this program (Page 3 here).  Anyone under the age of 18 will require signed parental approval to participate. In addition, myself or a member of the chosen committee must  speak to or correspond with the parent(s) about the athletes involvement with this program.

It is important to understand these funds are not to replace what is and can be provided by the parent(s), local club, or local bike shop. This fund is to supplement the aforementioned resources upon their exhaustion.

Committee (here) : My expectations are that a committee can be developed from the cycling community to assist with this program. The selection and volunteer committee members are pending identification and your input is desired on this topic.

Funding From Donors (here): 

Request for funding is to be done within 60 days prior to the need of such funds to assure proper allocation of resources. Use THIS form to request funds.

Funding is not a gift to the athlete but is intended as support leading to the enhancement of future competitive performance. Applicants must provide a bio of themselves, state their goals for the year 2008 and 2009 and this information along with a photograph will be posted on this site to help promote their cause. Applicants must specify and justify expenses for which they intend to use the funds and how the funds will contribute to their performance.
